James Thompson graduated in 1998 with an MBA from Kingston Business School. He also graduated in 1996 with a BA in Economics and French from Kingston University, and he obtained his Financial Planning Certificate (1, 2, 3) in 1997. James has over twelve years of experience in the financial services industry at Swiss Bank Corp, Hill Samuel, and as an independent financial advisor specialising in offshore products for British citizens living overseas. He currently manages a large portfolio of clients in many countries, offering them each customised advice based on their individual risk/investment profiles and on the latest market trends. James founded OCG in 2006.

Gordon Bacon

Gordon Bacon is the newest member of the OCG team, he joins OCG with a wealth of experience gained in hugely diverse sectors of the global financial arena. He began his career in Financial Services over twenty years ago as a financial adviser with a merchant bank in the City of London. Since then, he has held various senior executive positions in leading global banking and insurance companies such as BUPA, Hill Samuel, CUNA Mutual and AEGON. Most recently, until the end of 2008, he was UK Managing Director for CUNA Mutual Group, one of the largest insurance companies in the world. As well as his current work with OCG, Gordon also acts as a consultant to insurance companies and private equity groups on various key functional areas. He holds an Honours Degree in Psychology and is a graduate of the Development Educators UK programme.

Jonathan Cook, MBA

Jonathan Cook has an MBA from the University of Ottawa and a DESCAF from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Grenoble. Jonathan spent 13 years at American Express, working in various roles in Amex’s card, insurance, and banking units: management accounting, project management, and business development support. Jonathan is currently an independent consultant specialising in business planning & financial analysis and marketing support for finance-related companies in Europe and Asia. Jonathan is OCG’s Manager of Operations.

Eric Abhyankar 

Mr. Abhyankar  is a Professor of finance and project management at the MBA programs at the University of Finance and Administration, Prague, the University of Northern Virginia, Prague and University of Management, Slovakia . He was with UBS Financial Services in the United States previously. Mr. Abhyankar has served in various executive positions in IBM Global Services, DHL and AT&T in the US, Europe and Asia and is on the Business Advisory board of multiple institutions. He has multiple graduate degrees from University of South Carolina and George Washington University.

Andrew Hughes

Andrew Hughes has worked in financial services since 1996 working for Sun Life of Canada, Lincoln and Lloyds TSB. Since moving to France he has established an internet based Estate agency, specialising in the Expatriate market, helping clients make a smooth transition moving abroad.

Recognising the need to offer financial advice to Expatriates living in the EU, becoming part of the OCG team made perfect sense.

He holds Financial Planning Control 1, 2 and 3, Professional card for Estate Agency in France and HND Business and Finance, Cranfield University.
